In 1966 Dupont revolutionized the countertop industry with the introduction of it's new product Corian. Today, Corian is the most popular solid surface material in the world. Bucks County Kitchens has chosen to represent this product over the other solid surfacing materials on the market today for good reason. Although Dupont is the largest manufacturer of polyester in the world, Dupont's Corian and only Corian is made from 100% solid high performance acrylic formed with natural minerals and pigments. Acrylic materials are more expensive but are also more durable than polyester or polyester blends. Polyester supports bacteria growth which acrylics will not and Dupont's seaming materials are the best on the market today. Corian "breathes" but does not give off the gasses that polyesters are known to produce. When these gasses have evaporated, the materials can dry out, become brittle and crack. This is not a problem with acrylic. Dupont's warranty is without question the best in the industry.
