Bucks County Kitchens is owned and operated by Kathleen DiBlassio, a lifelong and enthusiastic resident of Bucks County, Pennsylvania. After graduating from St. Mary's Hall in Burlington, NJ, Mrs. DiBlassio went on to the Tyler School of Art and the Moore Institute of Fine Arts in Philadelphia.

Kathy started her career as a clothing designer and manufacturer catering to upscale boutiques and children's specialty stores. Her first company, KDB Designs, was a huge success. By 1984, the company had grown so large that rather than give up her "personal touch" and the high quality of her designs to mass production, she sold the company and decided to move on. She soon discovered that her love of cooking and background in Fine Arts made her particularly well suited to the changing demands of the kitchen industry and soon after Bucks County Kitchens was born!

Bucks County Kitchen's first showroom was located in the Manover's building in Penns Park. It encompassed more than 15,000 sq ft of floor space and was considered one of the largest and most beautiful kitchen showrooms "East of the Mississippi". The business was successful and grew rapidly employing three construction crews, a staff of more than eight designers, and a variety of other support personnel.

In 1998 Mrs. DiBlassio decided to focus more on the "people" side of kitchen remodeling and relocated the business to it's smaller location at the "Gathering". "I've never felt that bigger was better. Choices associated with kitchen remodeling require close understanding of 'people' preferences" states Kathy. "My joy comes from working with clients who are initially overwhelmed by the choices available to them, and gradually become excited and involved as I help them simplify the process. I like to take an intimate approach to each project and explain carefully the options available to my clients. As they become well informed about their options they get more involved in the project and truly begin to enjoy what had seemed so overwhelming just a short time before. Having a smaller, more intimate showroom allows me to spend necessary, quality time with each client. We have our regular time to meet each week and progress at the rate most comfortable for the client."

Kathy goes on to say that "Smaller is better. My clients want one person to handle the project from start to finish. While it may be more profitable to have someone in charge of order processing and someone in charge of installations, etc., it's not the way to insure that the client always gets what's promised and expected. By having the one person who has worked through the design problems and the selection process with the clients, ordering the materials and working with the contractors, communication errors are virtually nonexistent. This results in a smoother transition from the old to the new for everyone."

Kathy's love of Bucks County history and old home living made the decision to relocate the business, in 1998, to one of the Historic buildings in the "Gathering in Penns Park", an easy one and business has flourished ever since.
